Track and manage critical medical records
The 3M™ RFID Tracking System from Sciamed includes software tags, a pad, and a handheld tracker. Each tag is a paper-thin label that electronically identifies all medical records within range of a reader.
Unlike barcodes, scanning does not require a physical line of sight. Staff can process many tagged medical records at once, and tags can be read through folders. The tracking pad is a networked device that programs tags, identifies medical records, and checks items in and out. The portable handheld tracker allows staff to quickly read tags, inventory offices and work areas, and update file locations in the database. The device also locates misfiled items on shelves (or in storage) and indicates where they should be re-filed. A complete file history is available on any connected computer.

Handheld Tracker
A portable device with an antenna and rechargeable battery that reads tagged medical records, identifies filing errors and expedites inventory. Stores file inventory in memory, allowing you to complete inventory up to 200% faster than traditional methods. Search lists (including missing medical records) can be loaded into memory to find specific medical records. With a sweep of the office on a regular schedule, your medical records will remain inventoried and maintained

 
The 3M™ Handheld Tracker is a lightweight portable device that expands the capabilities of the 3M RFID Tracking System. The Handheld Tracker scans medical records in file rooms, individual offices, common work areas, boxes and virtually anywhere medical records are stored. The Handheld Tracker software performs three main functions - file inventory, shelf order and item searches - all at the same time.
Features
File Inventory: The Handheld Tracker expedites inventory management, scanning and storing file locations on shelves as well as in departments. The inventory data is then imported from the Handheld Tracker into the 3M RFID Tracking System Software, where current file locations are updated in the database.
Shelf Order: While taking inventory, the Handheld Tracker can notify the user of medical records that are out of order. It also lets you know where the file belongs on the shelf, allowing you to quickly and easily put it back in the proper place.
Item Searches: The 3M RFID Tracking System creates search lists to identify specific medical records for relocation, reassignment, offsite storage, etc., or even to locate misplaced medical records.
The search list can be exported from the software to the Handheld Tracker. As file rooms and offices are scanned, a visual and auditory signal lets the user know that a file on the search list has been located.

 Tracking Pad
Used to program tags and check medical records in and out of a designated area. The pad reads a stack of medical records simultaneously. Audible cues and on-screen information confirm the file has been processed and the system updated. Placing tracking pads in file rooms, conference rooms and other high-traffic areas helps ensure compliance.

 
The 3M™ RFID Tracking Pad, a component of the 3M RFID Tracking System, is a small device about the size of a mouse pad. Connected to a computer running the 3M RFID Tracking Pad Monitor Software, the Tracking Pad can be used to easily program/reprogram tags as well as to check in and checkout medical records.
Features
As an essential component of the system, the Tracking Pad is placed in high traffic areas such as Medical Record Departments and clinics. Checking in or checking out medical records using the pad is as easy as placing the file(s) on the Pad. Several medical records can be checked out at one time, even when stacked together. Audible and visual cues will let you know that the tags on the medical records have been read and the location information has been recorded into the database. The easy-to-use system improves compliance with file room policies and procedures, keeping file locations in the database up to date.
Secure Filing
For secure areas, file check in and check out can be performed even when the computer is "locked." Audible cues will let the user know that the file has been checked in or out.

An easy-to-use software system designed to locate medical records, track file history, program tags, import and export information in the Handheld Tracker and much more. The software can be installed as a separate system or integrated into your records management system. 

The 3M RFID Tracking software system is an easy-to-use program that tracks and monitors file locations in one place. The system can be integrated into current records management systems or used as a standalone program to track file locations and history.
Knowing file locations is critical for increased productivity and filing deadlines. With the RFID tracking software system, you can track file history, locate medical records, program tags, import and export information with the Handheld Tracker and much more. Be secure in managing your file records with the RFID tracking software system.
Tracking Tag
Attached to each file, this reprogrammable tag allows you to electronically locate missing medical records, manage inventory and track a file's history. The tag is automatically read by the pad or the Handheld Tracker. Using the individual file tag information, you can search for specific medical records with the handheld tracker.
The heart of the 3M™ RFID Tracking System is the 3M™ RFID Tracking Tag, a paper-thin reprogrammable tag composed of an antenna and a microchip. When attached to a file folder, it can be inventoried using the 3M RFID Handheld Tracker or checked in and out of any location using the 3M RFID Tracking Pad.

The Tracking Tags can be placed on medical records or storage boxes filled with medical records that are going to clinics or offsite storage, or are being transferred to another location.
Inventory and Searches
