Boost for NHS Budgets as New Online purchasing service is launched

NHS buyers can now log on to www.sciamed.co.uk to buy a range of IT equipment including barcode printing, scanning and portable data collection systems. Sciamed based in Alford, Aberdeenshire have been supplying the NHS since 1994 with IT equipment.

Sales Director Stephen Henry said: "This new site will provide our NHS customers with a fast ordering service with the added benefit of significant discounts against manufacturers list prices."

Products available are aimed at specific health care applications for positive Patient identification like wrist band printing, medical records labelling and tracking, Laboratory sample tube tracking, blood tube labelling and tracking as well as scanners for reading blood bag barcodes. It is planned that the site will eventually offer many other healthcare related products, such as Asset tracking, job tracking and waste management systems for Estates departments and Medical loan tracking.

Mr Henry added: "I’m sure our NHS customers will find this site an asset to them and we hope that eventually it will become a one stop shop for software and hardware products for all types of identification and tracking applications."
