Sciamed have launchd Meditasc, a system for labeling sample tubes at the patients bedside. The system consists of a portable data capture terminal linked to a mobile printer. A software application on the terminal compares the patients demographic data, read from the 2D barcode on the patients wrist band, and compares it with the barcoded ID number on the test request form. This ensures the right test on the right patient. If the data matches the terminal instructs the printer to print a label with all the correct patient information.
